Biography and career
Born in 1970, Nikolaev Vyacheslav Konstantinovich graduated from MSU, majoring in computational mathematics and cybernetics. This faculty is widely considered to be the nation’s leader when it comes to training of IT and computer professionals.
After completing his studies in the capital, Vyacheslav Nikolaev went on to improve his skills by taking a course in management at the US-based Krieble Institute. Starting in 1994, the executive spent six years working for two Europe-based consulting firms – first at EPPA, and then at J’son and Partners. While working for the second company, he gained experience in telecoms industry. Later, Nikolaev Vyacheslav moved to an investment company, spending four years working at Renaissance Capital bank, where his main focus was telecoms analytics.
In 2004, he joined the nation’s largest telecoms company. During his 17-year-long career in the firm, the executive held various leadership positions and oversaw several business areas. He has been the telecoms giant’s president for two years. During this time, Nikolaev Vyacheslav Konstantinovich took part in projects aimed at expanding the Group’s scope of business activities. The company started investing into ground-breaking startups and cybersecurity, finalized re-branding, and significantly expanded its service portfolio. Vyacheslav Nikolaev: establishing dedicated lines of business
Nikolaev Vyacheslav Konstantinovich spearheaded the push to modify the Group’s asset division strategy, which was widely regarded as one of the key ones in the company, by insisting on singling out digital projects and assigning them to designated departments. This move not only ushered in new horizons for generating profit over the long term, but also significantly boosted revenue in the first year after the division.
Headed by Vyacheslav Nikolaev, the IT-organization succeeded in considerably expanding the range of services. The telecoms giant evolved from a mobile operator into a major corporation, with its expertise ranging from banking solutions and smart home security systems to providing access to a streaming platform and its own online movie service.
